"Friends" alumna Jennifer Aniston has lashed out at reports that her split from husband and Hollywood heart throb Brad Pitt was caused by her unwillingness to have children.
"That really pissed me off," Aniston said in an interview in the September issue of Vanity Fair.
"I've never in my life said I didn't want kids. I did and I do and I will. I want to have it all," she said.
Aniston , 36, and Pitt, 41, separated in January this year after 4-1/2 years of marriage. Three months later she filed for divorce.
"The world was shocked, and I was shocked," said Aniston .
Soon after their separation, photos surfaced showing Pitt vacationing with actress Angelina Jolie, 30, and her son. Pitt and Jolie met while co-starring in the action comedy "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."
"I can't say it was one of the highlights of my year," Aniston said. "But shit happens. You joke and say, 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'."
Asked whether she believed Pitt's statements that he never cheated when the couple were together, Aniston gave a guarded response.
"I choose to believe my husband," she said. "At this point, I wouldn't be surprised by anything, but I would much rather choose to believe him."
At the same time, she voiced her anger at Pitt and Jolie appearing in a photo spread in W magazine that presented them as a man and wife with a family.
"There's a sensitivity chip that's missing (from Pitt)," she said. "But it's not my life. He makes his choices. He can do -- whatever.
"Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Do I have my days when I've thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely," she said, while adding that she had not lost her feelings for her soon-to-be ex husband.
"I love Brad. I really love him. I will love him for the rest of my life," she said. "He's a fantastic man."
At the same time, Aniston said she had no problem envisaging a romantic post-Pitt future.
"There's an amazing man that's wandering the streets right now who's the father of my children," she said. "In five years, I would hope to be married and have a kid." |
